fly ash pipeHdpe Pipe For Handling Fly Ash

Oxford Plastics manufactures hdpe pipe for conveying fly ash, sand, mud, rock and many other abrasive materials. Due to its excellent abrasion and chemical resistance, our hdpe pipe has shown outstanding resilience when it comes to handling materials like fly ash. Because our hdpe pipe was designed with hydro transport systems in mind, a number of industrial sectors use it as a conduit for boiler ash, slurries of iron ore, fly ash conveyance, as well as sand and slurry disposal in dredging and other demanding applications.

Why Select Hdpe Pipe For Fly Ash Handling?
As one of the many residues generated by the combustion of coal, fly ash is extremely difficult to transport and store. Collected from the chimneys of coal fired power plants, fly ash is transported from the bottom of the coal furnace to a storage and treatment facility. Depending on the source and makeup of the coal being burned, the components of fly ash will vary considerably. For the most part, however, fly ash invariably includes substantial amounts of silicon dioxide, (both amorphous and crystalline) and calcium oxide, both of which are extremely toxic and harmful to the environment.

When faced with the challenge of fly ash disposal, there are two main advantages that hdpe pipe has to offer: flexibility, toughness and abrasion resistance. On the one hand, the flexibility of hdpe pipe allows for easy installations even in hard to reach and dangerous areas. Its flexibility also means that any shifting in the ground caused by swelling and shrinking of the soil, and even earthquakes, will not damage it or cause the pipe to break. At the same time, its toughness and abrasion resistance makes hdpe pipe ideal for transporting toxic materials like fly ash. The ability to join hdpe pipe using heat fusion also means that leakage is not a concern.

Highlights and Benefits
Our hdpe pipe features:

  • Excellent abrasion resistance: our hdpe pipe has consistently exceeded expectations when it comes to handling mine, fly ash, mud and rock, and other abrasive materials.
  • Good chemical resistance: our hdpe pipe is suitable for many chemicals including the corrosion that comes naturally to materials generated by coal burning.
  • Extraordinary Toughness and Impact Resistance even under very low temperatures hdpe pipe is easy to install and can withstand the shock of being installed. Hdpe pipe has low notch sensitivity, high tear strength, and excellent scratch resistance.
  • High Flow Rates: because of its low friction resistance smooth wall pipe is ideal for transporting flowing material from solids to liquids.
  • Various Connection Options: make hdpe pipe installations convenient and easy.
  • Long Service Life: Based on international standards, the service life of hdpe pipe exceeds 50 years even under service temperatures of 23° C or lower.
